Reasons behind Canadian visa denial
The process of obtaining a Canadian student visa seems quite simple since there is no face-to-face visa interview, but it can sometimes prove to be a challenge. Many students believe getting an admission letter is the hardest part, whereas getting a student visa is the real challenge.
Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for students to receive a rejection letter from the embassy. In order to make the process smooth, it is wise to know the cause behind the refusal beforehand and work closely to avoid visa refusal.
Here are a few prevalent reasons behind the refusal:-
1. Letter of Acceptance
You must receive a Letter of Acceptance from a Canadian College or University registered in the Designated Learning Institutions list. The visa officer could reject your application if they doubt the validity/authenticity of your Letter of Acceptance\’s validity/authenticity or recognize your failure to meet the program requirements.
2. Proper financial documents
As part of the Canadian visa application process, applicants must submit a current bank Certificate and bank statement for the last four months. Along with this, you must show the source of income of your sponsor that proves you can support yourself while studying abroad. Uncertainty in your sponsor’s ability to pay for travel expenses, tuition fees, and day-to-day living while in Canada is all reasons why a visa officer may deny your application.
3. Tie with your Home Country
It is essential to note that; a student visa is given for a certain period of time with the date of expiration. As a matter of fact, it is your utmost responsibility to make the visa officer believe that you will return back to your home country once you finish your study there. Your previous travel history, family ties in your home country or in Canada, and your travel purpose could all certainly cause a suspect in the visa officer’s mind about your intention to overstay in Canada.
4. Documents that matter
Be careful with your documentation that includes a valid passport with at least six months of validity prior to the study, recent photos, properly completed forms, upfront medical, birth registration forms,s, etc. The visa officer will judge your capability of getting a student visa based on these documents. Make sure that you have completed all the required sections and that they’re easy to understand.
5. Academic Results
The Visa officer will have a detailed look at your previous academic history. Along with good grades, IELTS scores also play a major part in his decision-making. With a combination of irrelevant subjects and low grades, the visa officer may question your ability to complete the English-taught courses in Canada.
However, getting a visa is not as easy as it may seem but it’s not impossible to get it. Recent years of visa ratio suggest a proper application along with strong supporting documents make it easier to get the visa.
